An abundance of Literary Loveliness

I'm sure you all know by now just how much I love an early night with a good book and how invariably I fall asleep after reading a few pages. Well, not this week. This week I've been burning the candle at both ends thanks to Milly Johnson and her latest thoroughly captivating novel The Teashop on the Corner.

Within the pages of her latest novel Milly has managed to seamlessly weave together the threads of the stories of a huge cast of fascinating characters and all with the help of The Teashop. Her choice of establishment proves beyond all reasonable doubt that only good things can come from drinking tea and eating cake and we should all applaud Milly for that!

However, the cleverly established setting has also got me thinking about other things, chiefly what I am going to describe as An Abundance of Literary Loveliness. I know I could wander around Leni's Teashop with my eyes closed, coveting any number of the little treasures in each and every one of the artistically displayed glass cabinets.

As a youngster I used to hoard notebooks, I still do. The only difference now is that I have the courage and steadily growing confidence to write in them. As a child the pages were left blank for fear of spoiling them. However, the variety of Literary Loveliness available has changed beyond all recognition now and my love of literary artefacts has the potential to grow into quite a habit.

Classics transformed into handbags, a plethora of pendants, clothing and mugs sporting inspirational quotes all jostle for attention from the social media side lines and I love each and every one of them. The Literary Gift Company, The Literary Emporium, Writers Gifts...the list goes on and on.


My most recent discovery is Scribbelicious. Their beautifully set jewellery displays quotes from poetry, classics, magic and mayhem and children's literature to name a few categories.

Long, lazy minutes have been lost whilst trying to decide which one to choose. Dumbledore and Snape, Luna or Gandalf, Alice or Galadriel. The jury is still out but one thing I am sure of is that if I don't get my act together soon and make a decision I'm in danger of sporting more jewellery than Mr T!
