Snowflakes & Cinnamon Swirls competition!

Hello everyone! As you know my Christmas 2018 title, Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at The Winter Wonderland, will be published on November 1st, which is now just a few days away!

To celebrate this third festive title I thought I would organise a little competition. The winners will be announced on publication day and anyone in the UK is welcome to enter.

This is what is up for grabs...

The books will of course be signed and there's also a Lizzie Dixon style festive cross stitch kit and some delicious Green & Blacks salted caramel chocolate!

Winners will be picked at random and to enter all you have to do is tell me what you love most about Christmas in the comments box below. Don't forget to leave your name!

Good luck everyone!

  1. I love so many things about Christmas but most of all that for a few days people are (generally)nicer to each other. Strangers in the street who would usually just grunt actually greet you when you say good morning!

  3. The warm glow that fills everyone that can’t be explained. The love of Christmas with family is the best and as my daughter gets older Christmas changes but it’s always so special with that magic Christmas feeling and love. Oh and also eating lots of chocolate, drinking Baileys and reading with the fire on and Christmas candles lit

My little ones love seeing houses all lit up and the town with their festive decorations. Christmas is such a joyous time and seeing the delight in my little one's eyes makes it so worth it. Best time of the year xx

  13. I love spending time with family and eating as much as you want without a care in the world. My favourite part of all is spending time and money finding the perfect gift for someone and then seeing the look on their face when they realise what you have bought for them. It's just magical!

  26. Your books have helped me out in some dark times Heidi! I also had a hilarious conversation with my mum on the phone as she was frantically looking for your book (she visited several stores!) not realising it isn't out yet! But what I love about Christmas is seeing my mum in Ireland actually. This year we will be travelling to hers and spending it in front of the fire with our 3 Huskies! Also my last Christmas as a Miss, as next Christmas I will be getting married! Xx

  33. Actually, it's the scent of cinnamon! Here in Austria every event you go to it's in the air, mixed with gingerbread and candle smoke. No mince pies but wonderful home baked biscuits. When my family arrives, we have the scent in the house, it just makes Christmas for me.

  34. I love the traditions. All the funny little things that have developed over the years that make Christmas what it is. Fish and chips from the chippy on Christmas Eve. Opening presents from the stocking in bed. Decorating the tree whilst watching My Fair Lady. Singing along loudly to The Muppets Christmas Carol...

  37. Cheryl Tucker - the best thing about Christmas is putting a lot of thought into the presents and seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they have opened them. Especially the look on my children’s face. I love making the day special for everyone. I also love taking photos of the occasion and making lots of memories with my family.

  38. For me it's the run up to Christmas that is super special! The lights, choosing presents, putting the tree up with the family then watching the terrible twins gaze in amazement at the lit Christmas tree, christmas films on the tv while wrapping, deciding where we will eat christmas dinner and what we will eat, all those little things going on I take a step back and see every christmassy thing going on around me, and the thought of people opening and loving the gifts I've given them, makes me all warm inside!! ❄️ Julia Coombes x

  41. What do I love about Christmas? The memories. I'm a sado, I don't have any children of my own (Mother Nature decided it wasn't for me). And my nieces and nephew are all grown with families of their own. So it's the memories. Of the looks of enjoyment and appreciation on Mum and Dad's faces as they tucked into some new twist on a traditional dish (I always watched cookery shows leading up to Christmas Day) - dates wrapped in bacon became a firm favourite. Or the year I organised Christmas Stockings and sourced old fashioned sixpences and an orange into them (ok, it was a chocolate orange!). Yeah, the memories. xx Debbie Bott

  45. There is so much to love about Christmas! Especially for a crafter, as I can celebrate all year round by spreading the Christmas card making over the year. But best of all is gathering the family round the table for the festive feast. I love all the traditional foods and flavours, you'll never catch me messing about and trying new recipes on Christmas day, after all, there are 364 other days in the year I can do that!

Mmm bliss. Roll on Thursday. I can’t wait.

Remembering Christmas past, telling stories about when my mum was alive. Raising a glass to her and remembering all our family that are no longer here too. Christmas is a time for total quality time. Christmas isn't about money or how much we spend it's time, time to love harder, time to laugh harder and time for making so many memories that are filled with love and happiness.

  71. For me, the most important, and precious thing, at Xmas is the act of giving love, time and kindness. A gift tailored for each of the recipients you love is an added bonus, but just being with family at this magical time is enough for me. Kindness can be something also given to random strangers, for so many struggle alone at Yuletide, that a simple smile or an ‘Are you okay?’ can mean so much. It is a gift of kindness that can be given with no expectation, but one that can mean so much.

  72. What do I love about Christmas... I love most how magical it is .. and it's the fact that we make it magical by believing, the twinkling lights , the fact that everyone comes together and creates magical moments, that traditions are carried on each year no matter how old you get and New traditions are started. it just really is the most wonderful time of year.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I love it all! I lo e the lights and the glitter, tinsel and decorations. I love how excited everyone gets as they see all the decorations and plan what they're going to get their peeps. I love the nostalgic feeling when you remember Christmases as a child and how everything seemed magical then, and that somehow makes it seem magical now. I love how people seem happier and smile more, and talk to strangers in queues and on buses. I love Christmas films and how they always have snow. And of course, the good. I even like sprouts!

Grandchildren well they just don't stop from morning to night, oh to have that energy again!
Christmas is magical and for me starts after my birthday in September, presents bought week by week, looking at Christmas magazines for new inspiration for recipes. Starting my tbr Christmas books pile, just BLISS. Christmas comes but once a year, but when it comes it brings good cheer.Xx

I love the memories of Christmases long ago, and the anticipation of Christmases to come. Just everything really!! from Elaine Fearnley.

  91. Christmas gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, I like relaxing whilst watching old Christmas films snuggled in blankets with my family. Taking turns to light the advent candle. Making mince pies and sharing them with friends. Carol services on Christmas Eve and wintry walks on Boxing Day. Reading Christmas stories, especially T'was night before Christmas (a tradition in my house) and lighting the angel chimes which reminds me of my childhood.

  95. What I love most about Christmas is being with my family. Christmas makes me feel like a child again. I still get up super early with my sister to unwrap our stocking my mum painstakingly wraps every year. Lol even though me and my sister are 37 & 29. I love watching my dog unwrap his mystery box full of presents as he sniffs out his treats and manages to sneak one or two lol. But I also have a hole in my heart at Christmas as I remember my loved ones who can't be with us. So for me Christmas is a mixture of emotions and feelings. But I love it all the same. A beautiful book, a beautiful blog post Thank you so much Heidi ❤πŸ’šπŸŽ„πŸŽ‰πŸŽ…πŸ€Ά
