Back in the Summer I submitted The Cherry Tree Cafe manuscript to Books and the City via their #onedayonly search for new digital first authors. I had already decided that one way or another the novel was going to be published because I loved the characters and their stories too much to leave them languishing on the memory stick. The fact that Sarah-Jade Virtue and Clare Hey loved them just as much as I did simply blew me away and after a chance meeting with S-J at the Festival of Romantic Fiction and a subsequent trip to the Simon and Schuster offices in London I finally dared to get my hopes up. When the offer came it really did feel as if Christmas had come early and I haven't stopped smiling since!
A simple celebration |
The announcement on the Books and The City website today has had an overwhelming response from friends family and so, so many of the wonderfully supportive writers, many of whom I have never met but nonetheless have championed aspiring authors, like myself as we journey along our Paths to Publication. There isn't the room on this blog to thank everyone individually but I raise a glass, offer a big hug and a heartfelt thank you to you all.
Without the encouragement and friendship I may well have given up long ago, but I didn't and I am so proud today to share the news that finally I am going to be a published author!
