January... what's the deal?

Hello my lovelies. How are you all? I hope life has been kind since we last got together for a chat. Personally I can't help thinking it has been rather harsh. The tragic loss of David Bowie, Alan Rickman and Grizzly Adams within just a couple of days of one another is a cruel blow and I can't shake off the feeling that the nation is reeling. Some would perhaps say that is a sweeping generalization and completely over the top, but I don't particularly care. I am reeling and if you choose to join me then you are welcome. We will hold hands and get through it together.

2016 has for many, myself included, got off to a less than auspicious start, and I have decided that I am going to start the New Year all over again. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not all doom and gloom. I'm still cock-a-hoop about the new book deal, seeing my novels in print for the first time and having two of them published this year is a thrilling, thrilling prospect, but I am also still recovering from The Chest Infection From Hell, (along with a lot of you), and desperately looking for those brighter, sunnier days that will bring with them an upsurge in sunny thoughts and energy levels.

With this in mind, I've decided that on Monday 18th of January the year will start all over again. I'm always telling folk that every day, every second even, is a brand new chance, a shining new opportunity to begin again, so the diet, detox and determination to write at least a few hundred words every day will govern my metamorphosised mindset and I pledge to do my utmost to turn a page and banish the winter blues.

Are you with me?

Happy New, New Year everyone!

H x

  1. I've had the chest for four weeks now!! Will it ever go away? Just said to my husband I reckoned I hadn't coughed as much last night - he said I'd been hacking all night!!! Decided to finally take the antibiotics although as it's caused by a virus I can't believe they will touch it!! The only answer is a week in the sunshine! Have been perusing the holiday sites...

    1. Oh bless you. Totally understand but the antibiotics worked for me. Fortunately I haven't had to take them often before. Hope you feel better very soon my lovely and yes, book yourself some sun! H x

  2. Personally speaking this year so far isn't shaping up too badly compared to last, but I do have to admit I'm a bit lacking on the word count front so I may join you in starting a new writing year.
