Say hello to Samantha Tonge!

Today I am delighted to be taking my turn on the fabulous blog tour for the launch of The New Beginnings Coffee Club by friend and fellow author Samantha Tonge.

Here's the blurb to get you in the mood...

Everyone deserves a second chance…don’t they?
Jenny Masters finds herself living the modern dream. Wife to a millionaire, living in a mansion and mother to Kardashian-obsessed ten-year-old April, there isn’t anything missing. Until, her whole world comes crashing down, forcing Jenny and April to leave behind their glittering life and start over with nothing.

With village gossip following her wherever she goes, she finds refuge and a job in the new coffee shop in town. As the days pass Jenny fears she doesn’t have what it takes to pick herself back up and give April the life she always wanted to. But with the help of enigmatic new boss Noah, and housemate Elle, Jenny realises it’s never too late to become the woman life really intended you to be!

What I thought...

This was a real stand-out read for me. Samantha has written a wonderful story that, as well as being both engaging and comforting, is also thought provoking and life affirming. I always warm towards plots where 'finding your feet' and 'starting over' are main themes (I've even written a couple), but this particular read has more twists in the journey than you could possibly imagine and it is those unexpected shocks and surprises that make this book an extra special coffee time treat in my book!

A few words from the author herself...

Everywhere you go, these days, you’ll see a couple of coffee shops. They seem to be taking over from pubs as the centre of a community. This delicious drink has become just so popular over the last decade.  It doesn’t seem like so long ago that the only choice, in a cafe or restaurant, was a coffee with milk or not. Whereas these days we are truly spoilt, with Espressos, frothy Cappucinos or Lattes topped with the most amazing art work. I visit coffee shops at least three or four times a week. I meet friends. Or take work. I read there or just people-watch. I get a warm glow from watching baristas joke with their regulars or exhausted young mums take a few moments to treat themselves. In a world where it can sometimes feel we do most of our socialising online, it’s great to get out there and enjoy some banter with equally caffeine-addicted strangers!
I, for one, hope that the coffee boom stays with us. It has inspired my new book which revolves around Jenny Masters. Her life has come crashing down around her ears and she seeks refuge in a village cafe. Will The Coffee Club provide her with a second chance? I hope you’ll enjoy her journey of self-discovery which might make you ask some questions about yourself....

Meet Samantha on social media...

Don't forget to join the tour again tomorrow...
