Update on the 'keep this writer warm' campaign and new found Kindle addiction

It has certainly been a crazy few days since my last post! As well as warding off unsavoury comments regarding my 'muff' there has also been the launch of my 'keep this writer warm' campaign and my Kindle addiction to manage.

Beginning with the campaign -

As yet I still have no muff so blankets and baking must suffice until Santa lends a helping hand or we move to a more thoroughly heated house (should be Jan, poss Feb). On Monday morning I baked a sponge (see pic) and with the added bonus of oven heat the kitchen stayed toasty until mid-morning when I then relented and reached for the extra socks and fingerless gloves. The cake of course had the added benefit of offering a sugar hit and nice smug feeling of being a competent earth mother...

With regards to the Kindle addiction, I can honestly say I didn't see this one coming! It was the £20 Amazon voucher that kicked things off, tempted me to place the order and generally sucked me into the spiral of download temptation! 65p here, a freebie there - within a couple of hours I'd lined up my reading material for the next few months at least! The kindle purchase can of course be justified because I am hoping to publish my novel as an e-book but the overflowing kindle carousel may take some explaining...

I've just finished reading Doubting Abbey by Samantha Tonge which was a feisty, fun and fast paced read published by Carina and the perfect pre-Christmas book to christen the kindle. The pages are packed with slightly eccentric country estate dwelling characters and believe me, I have lived on enough English country estates to know that Samantha has portrayed them   perfectly! If you are looking for a book to help you find some early festive cheer then look no further!
