RNA Joan Hessayon award 2016

Welcome to another Proud Author Moment folks! Unless you were out of the country, the universe actually, you can't have failed to have heard that the Romantic Novelists Association announced the 2016 Joan Hessayon contenders yesterday and my name was on the list!

To say I'm cockahoop doesn't even come close but I'm not going to wax lyrical about how excited I am or what the award is all about, (you can click on the link at the end of the post to find out more). No, what I want to say is how thrilled I am to see so many familiar faces, so many friends with me on this wonderful journey.

Not only is it a joy to find myself amongst such talented company, it is also a fitting demonstration of just how worthwhile and successful the RNA New Writers Scheme is. Each and every one of us, and our debut novels, has had the benefit of passing through the scheme and hasn't it done us proud? If ever an aspiring author was in two minds as to whether or not to join then take a look at this list and get planning! Becoming a part of the RNA NWS family isn't just about the manuscript critique, although that of course is second to none, it is also about the love, friendship and support of a whole new bunch of friends who want nothing more than to see you succeed.

Wishing everyone the very best of luck! I'm looking forward to catching up with you all at the party next month.
